New Highland County Concierge Maps
Would you like to be a concierge for Highland County? In January 2018,
the Highland Tourism Council will release a new concierge map for Highland
County and will hold trainings for partners interested in carrying the map.
This map will aid representatives, such as retail and lodging partners, tourism
representatives, real estate agents, county staff, and more, who are in need of
a map to direct customers, travelers, and new county residents to destinations
throughout Highland County.
Any partner willing to have and use the concierge map will need to
attend a brief training to gain knowledge of the uses of the maps as well as
anticipated frequently asked questions. Two trainings will be held – Wednesday,
January 17 at 5:30 pm and Saturday, January 20 at 10 am. Trainings will be held
at The Highland Center. Partners attending the training will be given supplies
and pre-determined, pre-printed information to assist customers, travelers, or
residents in the most efficient manner possible. Information to be included in
the training will consist of information on hiking and walking trails, scenic
driving routes, birding, sugar camps, the Highland Visitor Center, and more.
This initial training will be followed by a second training and
discussion in the spring to gather further questions, comments, and data about
the use of the new concierge map.
Information on the new Highland County concierge maps include: retail
and lodging facilities, restaurants, businesses, sugar camps, attractions, and
other points of interest, such as the McDowell Battlefield, post offices, and
the Confederate Breastworks.
Interested participants are asked to sign up for this training no later
than Friday, January 5. For more information or to sign up, please call the
Highland County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Council at 540-468-2550 or email
findyourescape@highlandcounty.org.
